A proof is a print that is an exact replica of what the end-result will be.  The proof is the last item to be examined before proceeding to production.

Envelopes can be printed using the flexo, litho, or enhanced flexo processes.  The biggest difference between litho and offset & flexo printing is that, with litho, the printing plate is directly applied to the paper, while offset & flexo printing transfers the image from the printing plate to a rubber “blanket,” which then transfers the image to paper.  While both offset and flexo printing transfer ink onto materials, the plates required to print are not the same.
